A micro insurance service platform for China’s social workers and low-income groups.

1.

Social workers form the core of society’s public welfare careers. According to estimates, there are more than 10 million social workers in China who are often low-income and lack insurance. Recently, there have been many stories about social workers with critical illnesses who can’t afford medical treatment, forcing them to become the objects of assistance. Meanwhile, there is an overall low-income population of over 500 million in China, whose basic social security is inadequate.

In order to sustainably improve the insurance status of public welfare workers and low-income groups in China, Yibao was the first organization to work with insurance companies and health examination organizations to provide micro insurance products and services that social workers and low-income groups need most.

3.

Without reduction of coverage, the price of the social worker insurance product developed by Yibao is 50%-90% cheaper than typical commercial insurance, which greatly reduces the financial pressure for social workers. Other micro insurance products developed in collaboration with the government and social service organizations include insurance for rural children and teachers, seniors, mental disease, farmer cooperatives, rural construction workers, and monks. Collectively, these products have offered additional protection for tens of thousands of relevant people.

Yibao has received recognition both at home and abroad. In 2017, Yibao was awarded MetLife Foundation’s Inclusion Award gold medal for China.

With Little Phil, now anyone can be a philanthropist.

1.

Fundraising for charities and non-profits is typically through phone calls or leaflets distributed by volunteers. These approaches often make people feel embarrassed and uncomfortable, and is not very effective.

Little Phil keeps donors up-to-date about the needs of disadvantaged groups, and allows people to donate at any time and from anywhere. The accessibility of the information, streamlined donation process, and feedback results in an increase in overall donations.

2.

In traditional non-profits and charitable organizations, only the largest donors have access to see where the money goes. Most people making small donations don’t know where and how their money is spent.

By using blockchain technology, Little Phil can make sure that money goes straight to the receivers, and receivers can also better understand whose generosity helped them.

3.

Charitable organizations sometimes face a challenging issue: it can be difficult to distinguish fraudulent causes and beneficiaries from genuine ones.

Little Phil uses technology to create a Unique Digital Identity (UDID) using biometric data for each receiver to minimize the potential for fraud.

4.

Statistics show that as little as 17% of donations actually end up reaching the ultimate cause, because the costs of marketing, generating awareness, and other related operations are so high

All transactions and costs are visible on the Little Phil blockchain. Little Phil’s system charges just 6% per donation, so costs can be greatly reduced.
